Hey all,

I'm trying to install a few applications nowadays, and one of them is a lyric manager for my mp3 player - available from http://www.ilyrics.net.

Anyways, i'm trying to install this iLyrics thing, and when i launch the .exe, a dos prompt opens, but i think this is normal - well, it's like a command shell but with no text in it. There is also an error message, which I will repeat verbatim:

Title: ntvdm.exe - No Disk
Subject: There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive Device\Harddisk1\DR2.

|Cancel| |Try Again| |Continue|

I'm using a standard S-ATA 120Gb HD, with WinXP SP2, and i believe i'm running the most up-to-date drivers. I don't have any problems with other applications, and the same .exe on a different computer works fine.

Is this something easily fixed, or am I looking at sending back my HD (please god no!)

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the program can't see your SATA drive-more likely to be a Software than a hardware fault, IMO. Is there an update available for the program?

No, that's the most up-to-date version of the software.

Is there such a thing as an IDE emulator?

I kinda need this application to work. No time limit, but it'd be nice for it to work to save me having to manually format hundreds of pages of text.

Open the memory stick in my computers, right click on each file and deselct "Read Only". That may work.

Hi! John James,

Check out what Merc said ?? suggests
Just check to see also if it has a "tiny" write protect switch on the side, which has been inadvertantly been moved and activated.

I've been dealing with the same error message but different circumstances. Seems to be a Windows problem. It would appear your Windows setup probably registered a removable device as drive D at some stage (DR1 = drive C) and then later couldn't find it when it started up. Google for +"there is no disk in the drive" +"please insert a disk into drive \device\" to see some solutions - one of the results might point you to a solution.
