According to the official requirements, you need at least a 1.7 GHz Intel Processor, or AMD equivilent. Your 1.5 GHz VIA isn't going to cut it. :(

And I don't think that ATI 9250 is gonna cut it for BF2, but don't quote me on it.

No, it's not. Good eye, Liquid. I believe the box stated you need an AGP card, but I'm not sure. It wsa on that sticker on the bottom that held the cardboard to the plastic case, and I threw that away.

The Official BF2 site doesn't say AGP, but I remember a buddy of mine selling it to me for the very reason that he didn't have an AGP card. :~

Well what exactly is the game doing? Does just closes after the flash? Or does it restart windows?

I suggest updating every driver to the latest. Motherboard drivers, sound card drivers, video card drivers, latest Direct X, latest Windows drivers etc.

Post back some results.

OK, this looks like a SW and not a HW issue.
I would recommend that you first download the BF2 MOD Editor.
It can be found at http://www.fileplanet.com/155852/download/Battlefield-2-MOD-Editor
You may have to create a user account, if you don't already have one, but you do NOT have to pay for membership.
After Downloading the Editor install.
You should now have a executable in your BF2 directory called BF2_r.exe or some such.
This is the debug build for BF2.
Create a shortcut or modify your present shortcut to load "<path>\BF2_r.exe +debugOutput 1 +debugSwiff 1"
Upon starting through this shortcut, you should get some output indication what the error is.
You may also want to check your Event Viewer Application logs for errors.

Good Luck.

I must refer to the very first reply in this thread.

A 1.5Ghz VIA will NOT run this game.

At the very minimum, you need a 1.7Ghz Athlon XP or Pentium 4.

What you're doing is like editing video on a mobile phone - its not gonna work

You'll need to allow popups, then allow the download.
Duh, I didn't think we were talking on that particular level.
