Seeing the price on that thing......... I'm glad my monitor does suck

but it's only 24"... if you're not into graphics (professionally), the number of colors don't come close when selecting a monitor as much as its size - games especially.

"Only" 24"? I think that's plenty big. I'd also argue that better colors = better gaming experience. When I got my first LCD and started playing HL2, I was let down by the lack of true black.

That thing is friggin sexy. Too bad they cost as much as a small child in some countries. Still, it'll trickle down.

Not at all worth the money, unless you are a professional graphic designer with a nearly unlimited budget. Most other graphic designers will probably want to save money and will end up buying a LaCie or an Apple Cinema display. Of course they offer no where near the amount of colors, but are easily at least $2000 cheaper. Of course graphic designers will want a really high resolution as well, and I did not see where they mentioned the resolution on this HP. Also I do not think too many of the Macintosh-leaning graphic designers will want an HP branded display hooked up to their PowerMac G5/Mac Pro.

That's defenitly geared towards graphic designers/ film editors, gamers arent as conserned but im sure there will be a few who will buy one along with their alienwares

Why did they put it in such a clunky frame?

With LED backlighting, they should be able to get the frame border width to nearly zero. Then, I can mount them to cover almost the entire interior of a sphere and have surround immersion video.

I hereby create and add two new words to the multi-media lexicon: surrmersion and surrmersive.

IF you need that level of color matching, keep your old professional series trinitron 22" tube monitor....I did.
