Heh...no, seriously. I picked up a DoubleSight DS-263N last week, and I gotta say, IPS panels are nice indeed. I had never seriously considered one due to huge price differences (relative to TN panels), input lag due to scaling, and especially panel lotteries (many of the "same" monitor models actually used different underlying panels...some IPS, some *VA), but the price on this one was just too good to pass up. And as an added bonus, it seems to be back in stock at the 'Egg, though with a price $20 more than when I got mine.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824185007

Pros: Beautiful vibrant colors and WIDE viewing angles (true in basically any *-IPS panel), virtually no motion ghosting, huge size but moderate dot pitch (25.5" panel, 1920x1200 resolution), nice price, 4 USB ports, no stuck/dead pixels (woohoo!). Did I say nice price??

Cons: Stand does not adjust up and down, some backlight bleed from lower corners, blacks could be a bit deeper, default brightness setting of 100% melts my eyes (running @ 12.5% now), I can't run Crysis with AA anymore on my 8800GT :p

The LG-Phillips LCD panels are excellent, my Dell 2005FPW has a LG-Phillips panel as well. They have excellent color and image quality for pretty good prices.

I thought it was pretty funny that your subject of this thread was a parody of an infamous thread (perhaps the most infamous thread in Hardware Analysis history?) posted by a former member a number of years ago.

I'm on a fairly nice TN panel, Hanns-G HG281. I like it, but... viewing angles suck (black levels die a horrible, painful death if you're looking at the screen from an angle higher than 10° off-center). Nice panel, but I want a nice, 28" Dell monitor next time. :)

EDIT: Hell, that's awesome! That's about $70 more than I paid for my Hanns-G! Forget the Dell ones, man!

And nice, classic HWA reference. I forgot to compliment you on your quick wit and clever tact. :D
