Just reading up on it just now. And this post will be updated as I read. But.. firstly...
that MoBo looks (appearances) utterly GASH! And the colour OMFG! Red! Ugh!
No bench marks!! Disgusting to say the least! Lol

I am now looking at the link below for ATi's Ray Tracing!! Although I have already
seen that on YouTube.

Nehalem looks to be pretty AMAZING !!!

did you all catch the screen shot with the FSB and core voltage ?

As it has been told that Nehalem is supposed to be a much better performer than anything previous to it and according to the cpu-z screenshot...... core voltage default is at 0.864 and FSB at 533 (i.e. bus speed at 133) which is all much lower than what we have today with the current Core2... which is running anywhere from FSB 800 ~ 1600 and voltages of 1.45 ~ or more... I wonder what TDP this particular chip will be rated at with these very low numbers...

CPU-Z can't be trusted with experimental processors; however, that 533 MHz FSB is probably the base clock used by everything in the Nehalem processor. That is, it is at least quad pumped for QuickPath and double pumped for memory. Then again, it could be 64-bit or 128-bit wide versus Core 2's 32-bit path meaning that lower clocks can be used to achieve the same effect.

foxconn seems to be making very solid products nowdays, i've always been iffy about them but it seems they are making some great new motherboards.

I wonder long before they bench this Nehalem.

I can. What is the average user going to run on it that actually makes it break a sweat? Software is way behind hardware now where the only code to make a computer break a sweat is the crap coming out of EA (e.g. Crysis, ProStreet). I still have no real reason to upgrade from my Opteron 180.

That's up to you.

Regardless, these will be awesome CPU's.

EDIT: btw, Prostreet isn't badly coded IMO, works smooth as silk on my 7600GT with decent settings.

The desert speed courses are unplayable on an X800 XL. I actually didn't know it until I got an 8800 GT. The difference was like night and day. ProStreet doesn't get low framerates in the normal sense. It even doesn't look back. What makes the difference is input -> action responsiveness. It was horrible on the X800 XL and excellant on the 8800 GT. The dual core processor may have helped too--hard to say.

On the lowest of settings, I expected it to play much better than it did. I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone without modern hardware. At bare minimum, I would suggest they prepare to be frustrated. There really is no excuse for a race game to not run smooth as butter on cards as far back as the Geforce 5 and 9800 Pro/XT series. In fact, that should probably be their goal because any drop in graphic performance can have catastrophic consequences in terms of game play. FPS just slows down a bit...race games you end up doing mid-air flips...

Isnt there going to be two version of Nehalem? I think one is with the IMC on a 1366 pins and the other without the IMC.... What are the code names for them.... I know one is Bloomfield.... what is the other?????

Yep. They're fabulous. Soon, I will sell my Alienware laptop, and gain enough money to begin buying my desktop parts, to include one (maybe two..) HD 4850's to play games at 1920x1200 on my Hanns-G. I am very much excited to be returning to the world of desktops. Ooh, and I'm getting an ASUS Xonar DX sound card for it, and it'll hook up to my 5.1 surround sound system. Gaming will never be the same!!!

Hooah. :D

What impresses me the most, it the cpu volts. Nice! Apart from that, at this
moment, i am not that impressed with benches. I expected more. A lot more in fact!

20-30% was all the difference between Core 2 Duo and Pentium D. In technology fields, it is a massive leap especially without sacrificing anything.

Yeah, Nehalem supposedly will have IMC and non-IMC available but I don't know how that will work. My guess is the Northbridge will determine which memory controller is used and not the processor itself.

In fact, hold. I got 5094, Nehalem got 5183 ? ? ?
