It looks good but at the end of the day the graphics are irrelevant if the game has terrible gameplay.

Graphics drive sales (from a marketing point of view, it has to look 'nice'), just as they nearly always have done. Once there's a demo released first to try it, cool.

Yeah, it does look like an Unreal Engine 3 game to me and it might have to due to the "wet" look the game has that is common on UE3 based games such as Gears of War, BioShock, and Unreal Tournament 3.

Back to one of the earlier questions.
Based upon the publicly available trailers it appears that these are captures from cut scenes, and not actual gameplay. Even though the site posting the links (slackvideo/slacknews) states these are in game rendered characters/shots, I see nothing to indicate that this is actually true.
I do not see any gameplay videos available for RAGE as of yet, but if someone here can find them, I'd be glad to see it.
I used to play a 8bit game called AutoWars (I think), and the graphics sucked by modern standards, but it did have great gameplay.

I've seen both the E3 and the QuakeCon trailers..even saved them.
They look awesome. I'd love for ID to actually post some info on their site prior to release.
Even if the cut screens are HD, this doesn't indicate the in-game capabilities, no matter what the engine is.
I personally loved the BIOSHOCK Environment. Very well done on several levels, but I just couldn't stick with it because it was way too difficult for me.
I just can't think and twitch at the same time....sign of age I guess.
I hope that the integration of the think and twitch games continues, but I think that the developers have to permit for a gamer that is good at both, or either, not just one. It is in the integration of the different gaming concepts that I think most of these FPS games fail.
I'd love to be a sniper. I can't keep moving and shooting all the time. I've not seen one that allows me to think about my placement, then take my shot, then move...they all seem to be twitch and move. Even on the champion levels.

I don't think it's your age Gerrit, I found Bioshock difficult for me too. I went with a slow pace the entire game and quick-saving my way every time I felt danger or was scared which was very very frequently. I feel a little trapped in close environments and get scared way more easily, this is a reason why I never finished F.E.A.R it's too scary for me I started getting very careful right after I grabbed the shotgun in Bioshock and the lights went out and ... well you know what happened next. I never expected that to happen and I nearly died of a heart attack.

I guess age doesn't matter, maybe we're both scared way too easily.

FEAR gave me some good frights and I love that. Especially when I turned down that ladder the first time and that little girl appeared, that scared the f**k out of me.

I haven't played BioShock, is it recommended?

Meats, thanks much for not spoiling that, I just bought it last weekend (it was $15 on Steam) and I'm playing thru it now.

If those screenies are ingame, I'll be impressed.

Wow for $15 dollars that's a bargain. You should definitely buy it at that price Kieran the story of the game will blow you away if you pay attention to it.

yeah i havent played Bioshock either, im not sure if it requires a Smart Shader 3 card though thats why i have never played it
